Jinhan sach da beeda chukia, dunia keeti ghat nahin.
Sant janan har aukad jhalli, maththe paya vat nahin.
Sant janan noon manmukh har dam, baura jhalla kehnde rahe.
Apne nij swarath khatar, santan de nal khehnde rahe.
Rahbar noon vi rahon bhulle, lok kurahia kehnde rahe.
Be-parvah ih sant hari de, tahne mehne sehnde rahe.
Sharha de kayal jabar hakam, raj raj vair kamande rahe.
Qazi pandat anhe aagoo, raj raj fatwe lande rahe.
Aye di te kadar na janan, deeve balan marhian te.
Kahe Avtar arhe ne moorakh, aj vi ohnan arhian te.

Those who took up the task of preaching the Truth, the world did not spare them;
Saints always faced every ordeal without any fret and frown.
The self-willed always ridiculed the saints and dubbed them as crazy and insane;
Motivated by self-interest, they kept on clashing with them.
Those gone astray dubbed even a prophet as following the wrong path;
Unperturbed , these saints kept on tolerating their jeers and taunts.
The fanatic and bigot rulers were always inimical to them;
The blind religious leaders- Qazis and Pandits, kept on issuing decrees against them.
Such people do not value the living but light the lamps at the graves;
Avtar says, these imprudent people are adamant on their stand even today.

Meaning
Those who took upon themselves the propagation of truth were opposed tooth and nail by the world. But, still the saints put up with every trouble without any worry and frown. The willful always make fun of the saints and tag them as crazy and mad. Motivated by self-interest, they kept on clashing with the saints. The wayward labeled even a prophet who came to show them the way, as the tempter. Unaffected by the sarcastic remarks, these saints of the lord exhibited tolerance. Rigid and extremist rulers always did their best to provoke these saints. The blind clergy Qazis and Pundits, kept on condemning the saints. While the saints are not valued while they live, homage is offered to their graves. Avtar says, such ignorant people are adamantly following their orthodox rigidity even today.
